Modifying and Canceling Orders in MT4 (Mac)

In MT4, you can add, modify, or delete pending limit and stop order levels and associated closing limit and stop orders.
You can also cancel the orders entirely.
There are mainly two methods to modify or cancel limit and stop orders:
・From the Order Placement Window
・From the Chart

How to Change from the Order Window

This method involves using the order placement window where you can modify existing positions.
There are mainly two ways to access the order placement window:
・From the Terminal
・From the Chart

From the Terminal①

Right-click on the order you wish to modify within the 'Trade' tab of the Terminal, and select 'Modify or Delete Order' from the menu that appears.

From the Terminal②

Double-click on the order you wish to modify within the 'Trade' tab of the Terminal to display it.

From the Chart

Double-click or right-click on the line indicating a limit or stop order on the chart, and select 'Modify' from the menu that appears.

Enter the changes in the displayed order placement window and click the 'Modify' button to complete the changes. To cancel a specified closing order, set the order price to 0. Clicking 'Delete' will cancel the limit or stop order itself.

How to Change on the Chart

When modifying orders on the chart, ensure lines indicating positions and orders are displayed.

Choose 'Options' from the 'Tools' menu in MT4.

Check 'Show trade levels' in the 'Charts' tab of the Options window.

Drag from the line indicating a limit or stop order to the desired level to modify the price. If there is an associated order, it will move the same distance. When one-click trading is ON, the order is modified immediately; when OFF, review the changes in the order screen and click 'Modify' to complete.

Similarly, you can modify an associated closing order by dragging on the line indicating the associated order.

To cancel a limit or stop order on the chart, right-click on the line indicating the order and select 'Delete' from the menu.
