Displaying New and Reopening Closed Charts in MT4 (Mac)

This guide explains how to open a new chart in MT4, how to close a chart, and how to reopen a chart that has been closed.

How to Open a New Chart

There are numerous ways to open a new chart in MT4. Here, we introduce four typical methods.

Open from the File Menu

Select "New Chart" from the "File" menu in MT4.

Then choose the instrument you want to display from the list that appears.

Open from the Toolbar

Click the new chart icon at the left end of the toolbar and select the instrument you wish to display.

Open from the Market Watch ①

Right-click the desired instrument in the Market Watch and select "Chart Window".

Open from the Market Watch ②

Drag and drop the instrument name from the Market Watch onto an empty area of the chart.

How to Close a Chart

Unwanted charts can be closed by clicking the "×" button in the top-right corner of the chart.

How to Reopen a Closed Chart

Select the chart you want to reopen from "Open Deleted" in the "File" menu of MT4.
