How to Use Chart Templates in MT4 (Windows)
On MT4 charts, you can save the color settings, indicators, and other configurations of one chart as a "preset chart" and apply them to other charts. Here, we will guide you on how to use this preset chart.
How to Save a Preset Chart
Prepare the chart with the color settings and indicators you want to save, select the chart, and begin saving the settings using one of the following methods.
① Save from the Menu
Select "Save as Template" from "Template" under the "Charts" menu.
② Save from the Toolbar
Click the "Chart Templates" icon on the toolbar and select "Save as Template" from the displayed menu.
③ Right-click on the Chart and Save
Right-click on the chart and select "Save as Template" from the "Template" menu.
Next, the "Save As" dialog will appear. Enter a file name of your choice and save the template.
How to Apply a Preset Chart
To apply a saved preset chart to a new chart, use one of the following methods:
① Apply from the Menu
Select the template name you want to apply from the "Template" under the "Charts" menu.
② Apply from the Toolbar
Click the "Chart Templates" icon on the toolbar and select the template name you want to apply from the displayed menu.
③ Right-click on the Chart and Apply
Right-click on the chart and select the template name you want to apply from the "Template" menu.
How to Delete a Preset Chart
To delete a saved preset chart, use one of the following methods:
① Delete from the Menu
Select the template name you want to delete from "Delete Template" under "Template" in the "Charts" menu.
② Delete from the Toolbar
Click the "Chart Templates" icon on the toolbar and select the template name you want to delete from "Delete Template" in the displayed menu.
③ Right-click on the Chart and Delete
Right-click on the chart and select the template name you want to delete from "Delete Template" under the "Template" menu.
How to Load a Preset Chart
In MT4, you can also load templates created on other PCs or by others.
To display the "Open" dialog and select the template file you want to load, use one of the following methods:
① Load from the Menu
Select "Load Template" from "Template" under the "Charts" menu.
② Load from the Toolbar
Click the "Chart Templates" icon on the toolbar and select "Load Template" from the displayed menu.
③ Right-click on the Chart and Load
