What is Copy Trading?

Automatically copy another trader's trades
into your own trading account.

Copy trading is a system that automatically reproduces (copies) another trader's (strategy's) trades in your own trading account. You don't need to do your own market analysis or trading decisions — you can have an experienced trader's trades reflected directly in your account.

At Titan FX, you can use copy trading through the "Titan FX Social" smartphone app or the web version. Since it links directly to the trading account you already have with Titan FX, you don't need to prepare a new account or password.

First, 4 terms to know

Copier
The one who copies a strategy's trades — in other words, you.
Strategy
The unit being copied, representing a set of trading activity and performance. The figures shown on the ranking and detail pages are managed per strategy.
Signal provider (provider)
The trader who actually runs the strategy. A single provider may offer more than one strategy.
Titan FX Social
The dedicated app for copy trading. It's available on iPhone, iPad and Android, and lets you check charts in four timeframes (M1, M5, H1, D1) on the trading screen.

Keep "the person" and "the strategy" separate.
A provider is the person running it; a strategy is the trading approach being copied. The performance you compare is always shown per strategy.

02

How it works and how money moves

When you copy a strategy, the new orders and closes it makes are automatically reflected in your own trading account, sized according to the method you've chosen in advance (fixed size, mirror master size, proportional by equity, or proportional by balance). Trades made in the app are also reflected directly in your MT4/MT5 account, so there's no need to prepare a separate dedicated account.

How Fees Work

There is no upfront cost, and each strategy you copy has its own "performance fee" rate.

Up to 50 %

Check the "Performance fee" field on each detail page

There is no upfront cost to use copy trading itself. Trading conditions such as the spread are the same as regular trading, and no extra trading commission is added just because it's a copy trade (if you use copy trading on a Blade account, the regular Blade account trading commission applies).

Also check each strategy's fee rate and deduction timingYou can check each strategy's performance fee rate in the "Performance fee" field on its detail page. Confirmed performance fees are deducted from your MT4/MT5 account the day after the trade (at 00:00 UTC).

4 Benefits of Copy Trading

You leave the day-to-day trading decisions to the strategy, while still managing your own account and copy settings.

MERIT 01

No trading knowledge or experience required

Market analysis and trade timing are left to the strategy, so you can use an experienced trader's trading even with little knowledge or experience of your own.

MERIT 02

No need to watch charts around the clock

Once you set up copying, trades are reflected automatically, so you don't need to watch the market 24 hours a day. You can keep trading while focusing on your job or other activities.

MERIT 03

Spread risk across multiple strategies

You can copy multiple strategies at the same time from the same account. Instead of concentrating your funds on a single strategy, splitting them across several helps spread the risk tied to any one strategy or market condition.

MERIT 04

Stop copying anytime, on your own terms

Unlike schemes where you hand your funds to a manager, copy trading lets you keep managing your own account — you can stop or unlink a copy at any time, based on your own judgement.

05

Drawbacks of Copy Trading

Copy trading has many benefits, but there are also drawbacks worth knowing before you start using it.

A strategy you're following can suddenly perform worse

Don't concentrate your funds on a single strategy — follow several. Check performance regularly and review as needed.

The provider may stop providing signals

Follow multiple strategies, and make a habit of checking notifications about their status.

Orders may not execute at exactly the same timing or price as the provider's own trading

Use the service expecting some timing/price difference, due to follow delay or slippage.

A performance fee is deducted when a trade is profitable

Check each strategy's performance fee rate before following it.

Pair "spreading out" with "reviewing."

Combine spreading funds across multiple strategies with regularly checking performance to keep your approach on track.

Past performance is no guarantee of future results.A strategy that performed well in the past may not continue to do so.

Tips for Choosing a Good Strategy

Don't just look at the size of the return — also check how long it's been running and how large its losses can get. You can compare these against the indicators on our ranking and detail pages.

01

Check how performance has trended

On the detail page's "Cumulative return" chart, check whether the performance isn't built on a single large short-term gain, and whether it has trended steadily upward.

Indicator to check: Cumulative return
02

Check how long it has been running

The "Inception date" tells you how long the strategy has been running. A strategy that has run longer has likely experienced a wider range of market conditions.

Indicator to check: Inception date
03

Check the maximum drawdown

This shows how far the account value fell from its peak during the period. Check the risk being taken, not just the return.

Indicator to check: Max drawdown
04

Check the number of copiers and risk level

The "Number of copiers" and "Risk level" are also useful reference points when choosing a strategy.

Indicator to check: Copiers / risk level
05

Look at the balance of wins and losses, not just the win rate

A high "win rate" can still hide a strategy where a single losing trade causes a large loss. Use "Win/loss count" and similar figures to check the overall balance.

Indicator to check: Win rate / win-loss count

Each illustration is just a visual aid for the indicator, not an actual strategy's results.

You can look for strategies matching these indicators on our "Copy Trading Ranking" page, filtering by popularity, return, maximum drawdown, risk and more.

FAQ

Which trading accounts can connect to Titan FX Social?

Any live Titan FX account you have can be used, regardless of account type.

What products can I trade on Titan FX Social?

All products offered by Titan FX can also be traded through Titan FX Social.

Does the Titan FX Social app cost anything to use?

Downloading the Titan FX Social app itself is free, and there is no monthly fee for using the app. If you use copy trading, the signal provider you copy may charge a performance-based fee. Each provider's fee can be checked by tapping on their profile.

Which strategy should I copy?

You can look for strategies on our "Copy Trading Ranking" page using indicators such as return, maximum drawdown, and number of copiers. See "Tips for choosing a good strategy" for what to look for.

Can I copy multiple providers at the same time?

Yes. You can copy multiple providers at the same time from the same account. The performance fee is calculated independently for each provider, so a loss on one provider's copy doesn't affect the fee calculation for another.

Can I stop copying at any time?

Yes. Since you manage your own account under copy trading, you can stop or unlink a copy at any time, based on your own judgement. From your profile screen, select the signal under "Copying", tap "Edit" then "×" to stop — you can then choose to keep mirroring existing open positions, close all of them, or manage them manually.

How is the copied trade size (lot) determined?

You can choose from four methods: "Fixed size", "Mirror master size", "Proportional by equity", or "Proportional by balance" — and you can also adjust the result with a multiplier (proportion).

Can I manually close a copied position myself?

Yes, you can close a copied position manually. In that case, the trade still counts toward the performance fee calculation.

Does the stop-out rule also apply to copy trading?

Yes, the same stop-out rule as a regular Titan FX account applies.

Are there guides or manuals for Titan FX Social?

Titan FX Social runs on a platform provided by Pelican Trading. For details on how to use it, please refer to Pelican Trading's user guide and help center, as well as Titan FX's own user guide.
