Indicator Overview
An Indicator That Detects "Pauses" Within a Trend
Even in a trending market, where price appears to move continuously in one direction, there are often periods when momentum temporarily weakens. Trend Pause Detector is an indicator that identifies and displays these situations on the chart, where the trend remains intact but is temporarily taking a break.
This indicator confirms the trend direction using moving averages while analyzing candlestick body sizes and ATR changes to detect periods when price movement has temporarily calmed. Blue dots are displayed for pauses during an uptrend, while red dots are displayed for pauses during a downtrend.
Rather than chasing the initial stage of a trend, this indicator can be used as a tool to help traders wait for pullbacks or retracements. For beginners, it can also serve as a useful way to consider whether a trend has truly ended or is simply pausing.
This indicator works only on the Windows versions of MT5 and MT4 provided by TitanFX.
